A family of entrepreneurs with no direct links to the land. This is the story of a man,Tommaso, who decides to give up his former activity in order to dedicate himself completely to the amazing sources of the Salentino territory.
This great passion materializes in the mid 80's through the acquisition of several estates thus starting a flourishing business that soon makes itself known at a high level and is still today steadily growing.
The strenght of this family comes from their ability in recognizing tha land's potential which they try to perfectionate adapting it to modern times without violating its nature. After the acquisition of the estates , the Rubino family has been dedicated to the marketing of the grapes. Successively large investments, that are still in progress, enable them to modernize the implants and to make what they always dreamt of come true: the foundation of a winery for the production and distribution of their products.
This is their son's challenge. Luigi, soon after achieving his degree,has dedicated himself exclusively to this plan.

Luigi RubinoThe traditional vine growing, in the last twenty years, has been through one of the most serious crisis. On one hand the moving of the grapes to the social wineries wasn't able to ensure profits to be reinvested. On the other, the incentives from the European Community in order to limit overproduction, had as a result the removal of the vineyards. Tommaso Rubino could not accept such a thing and with the great courage that came from the passion for his job, he decided to plant vineyards following quality strategies that 10 years ago were absolutely innovative in Southern Italy. He decided to plant new varieties of grapes, he substituted old systems with modern ones, although he was aware that not always these are the most effective. The reason why he decided for such an alternative change? The idea of a winery was already in his mind, clear and definite.
